Unicorns...What Else?

So I stumbled upon an old post of mine.  The one where the bookshelf broke in the middle of my day. {here}

I realized something.  I may have lost my wit and charm somewhere between last March and this one...

I am pretty sure at this point I have unicorns flying out of my eyeballs and rainbows shooting out of my mouth at work.

 Wow I searched for an image of what I must look like now...not what I was going for.  AT.  ALL.  I mean is she serious?  Were they being artistic?

 My class has completely taken the wit and sarcasm out of me.  They are way too well behaved.  {Insert well deserved eye roll here please}  I am not ready to release and vent at the end of the day.  I don't have the pent up frustrations of yesteryear.

I no longer have this kid in my class either.
(Let us never speak of last year's class         shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  I said never.)

This year is all about the unicorns and rainbows ...and skipping pigtails.  Yes,  today I literally noticed the innocence of a skipping firstie in pigtails and had a moment to ponder the fragility and splendor of youth today.  {Because I wasn't doing what I have always had to do in the past which is to stop one student from dragging his head on the wall as we make our way down to recess, the other from stepping on wayward shoe laces, and a third from incessantly chattering)
 Anyway...I am not sure what kind of year you are having.  I hope it is great, but I am sure based on sheer statistics and well the fact that we work with kids, that you most likely have some serious challenges out there that make it tough to wake up and head in to work.

Remember these beautiful words as you face those challenges tomorrow.
You are amazing.  You are a hero.  You are a unicorn.  Sorry I really wanted a third one for dramatic effect.

I this is totally unrelated but I have to tell you this because I would hate for you to be missing out!
I added two new centers to my March Math Centers.  They are kind of awesome what with the rainbows and all.

Please go download them again and get the two new centers for free.  They were skills that we truly needed so I added them in there.  (also I updated the cover so you may not recognize what you already own!) Apparently unicorns are sneaky.

Now get off of here and watch The Bachelor!  What are you waiting for?

  1. Hahaha I had a kid tell me on Friday "Whenever we are stressed, just remember that unicorns poop out rainbows and sunshine. "

  6. Hahahahahaha! I just love you. So glad you have this unicorn problem this year. The kid stepping on wayward shoelaces was my arch nemesis a couple years ago. Omiword.
